• Course DescriptionIn this lecture, principles and characteristics of major renewable energies (photovoltaic and wind turbine) and other distributed energy resources (battery energy storage system, diesel generator, and loads) will be discussed in the perspective of electrical system. Microgrid, which is a small-scale power system and can be used to solve problems caused by renewable energy, will also be studied. Control of distributed energy resources and optimal energy management algorithm of microgrid are the main topics.
